Refills

Start with your pharmacy and plan ahead.

Routine refills

  • • Routine refills should be requested through your pharmacy first
  • • Please allow up to 72 business hours for routine refill review
  • • Plan ahead before weekends, holidays, and travel

Refills and follow-up

  • • Refills are usually provided to last until the next recommended visit
  • • If you are nearing the end of your medication, follow-up is often due
  • • Medication management is often best handled during an appointment

Controlled medications

  • • Controlled medications generally require follow-up visits at least every 3 months
  • • Please do not wait until the last minute to request follow-up

Schedule instead if:

  • • Your medication is not working well
  • • You are having side effects
  • • You think a change may be needed
  • • You are overdue for follow-up
  • • The issue is more than a simple refill

Questions between visits

  • • Some medication questions can be addressed between visits
  • • Many medication concerns are still better handled in an appointment
  • • Messaging should not be used for urgent needs or last-minute refill requests

If you are unsure, scheduling a visit is often the most reliable next step.
